Hi, I’m Eva.
I’m a Provisional Psychologist based in NW Calgary, and I provide therapy in both English and Mandarin.
I work with teens and adults to heal from the past and build the life they want.
Have you been feeling like life is overwhelming, heavy or confusing?
Maybe you feel exhausted from constant worry, anxiety and thoughts that don’t seem to turn off. Perhaps you’ve been feeling down, numb and wondering if things will ever get better.
Do you sometimes notice that your reactions feel intense while others around you don’t seem bothered at all? Do you find yourself avoiding certain places, people or situations because they feel too triggering?
Perhaps you feel caught in coping habits that sometimes feel out of control or get in the way of living the life you want.
If any of this resonates, you’re not alone.
Many mental health problems developed as a way to cope with difficult or traumatic experiences that we went through. This is how our brain and body have adapted to help us survive overwhelming events. However, over time these same coping patterns can start to feel unhelpful.
Some of the challenges that my clients bring to therapy include, but are not limited to:
PTSD and Complex PTSD
Anxiety and Depression
Phobias
Compulsions and Addictions
Relationship Problems
If you recognize yourself in these experiences, you don’t have to carry this alone. Together, we can find ways to help you feel more balanced and supported in your daily life.
I provide individual therapy for teens (15+) and adults. In our sessions, we work together to make sense of what’s happening and develop practical tools to help you feel grounded. Based on your goals, I use approaches that are evidence-based and trauma-informed to help you heal from the past and move forward with greater resilience.
How I Can Help
Research has found that simply talking about past trauma does not help resolve or heal the impacts of trauma. This is why I use trauma-focussed therapy modalities to help my clients see real progress. I primarily use Attachment-Focussed Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (AF-EMDR), which is a treatment method that helps your brain reprocess traumatic memories so that they no longer feel disturbing and ongoing.

Bilingual & Culturally Sensitive Therapy
I provide therapy in both English and Mandarin Chinese. As a first-generation immigrant who grew up in Canada, I understand the challenges of growing in a different culture from your parents. I use a culturally sensitive approach to help you embrace your authentic self.
For many Christians, it feels important to work with a therapist who shares their faith and understands the nuances of navigating mental health as a believer. If this is true for you, I offer counselling that incorporates Christian faith to explore how your beliefs connect with your challenges and to draw on spiritual practices that support growth.
